January Giving, Week 2 – Stationery Drive

As you may know by now, every month of the year I will request a certain item like toiletries, clothing or linen OR items related to a specific group/facility/organization I support. In the course of the month I will share more details about my Monthly Giving Project 2016, so that you can know what items will be requested and for whom.

January then, as usual, I have my annual ‘Stationery Drive’. During the month weekly reminders will be posted on Social Media and, come the 31st, all the items collected will be sorted for distribution during the first week of February.

The items needed are the usual school supplies, stuff like:

  • Pens and pencils or pacers
  • Coloured pencils and wax crayons
  • Coloured paper for crafts
  • Play dough, craft paint and oil pastels
  • White boards and whiteboard markers
  • Exercise books and school diaries
  • Rulers, erasers, glue and pencil sharpeners
  • Mathematical instrument sets and calculators
  • Pencil cases
  • School bags and lunch boxes

If you wish to contribute, please get in touch. Click here to e-mail me or send a message via Facebook or Twitter.

I want to thank loyal supporters, Ingrid Abendroth and Tanya Pegram who have already responded to my request.

Ingrid Abendroth dropped her donation off on Saturday, 9 January 2016

Ingrid packed 20 stationery kits and requested these to be delivered to Dunduzela Day and Night Care Centre in Nellmapius. In addition to these, she also blessed us with more stationery (crayons, paper, etc.), soft toys and food…these will be distributed according to need. Rock of Hope Place of Safety was the lucky recipients of some much needed baby products and clothing, also donated by her. Thank you, again, for your enthusiastic support, Ingrid, no words can describe our appreciation of your efforts.

If you wish to contribute to a specific facility, you are welcome to request a facility list.
